5.1 - Categories of Aircraft Registered in Bermuda

5.1.1 - Two thirds of the aircraft registered in Bermuda are certificated in the Private Category for use in private, corporate or executive roles.

5.1.2 - Approximately one third of aircraft registered are certificated for use in the Transport Category (Passenger) role and a small number are certificated for use in the Transport Category (Cargo) role.

5.1.3 - Aircraft certificated in the Transport Categories are operated by airlines in countries with which Bermuda has concluded agreements for the safety oversight of Bermuda registered aircraft. Such agreements may be signed when the BDCA has established, by inspection that the NAA of that country has the capability to carry out safety oversight as determined by ICAO.
