7.2 - The Continuing Airworthiness of Aircraft

7.2.1 - The Director may issue an initial C of A to an aircraft registered in Bermuda when he is satisfied that the aircraft is fit to fly having regard to all aspects of the design, construction, maintenance, modifications status, inspections and repairs of the aircraft its engines, propellers and equipment.

7.2.2 - At the time of initial certification of an aircraft the Director will have accepted a Type Certificate for the aircraft, determined the airworthiness directives to be complied with and have received a recommendation concerning the airworthiness of the aircraft. During this process the Director will have accepted a check flight certificate, agreed an appropriate BDCA approved AMO and approved a Maintenance Schedule to which the aircraft shall be maintained during the time the aircraft is registered in Bermuda.

7.2.3 - All Cs of A are valid for a period of twelve months. A satisfactory review of the condition and technical status of aircraft and associated documentation shall be made before the Director will reissue a C of A. A review of the condition and technical status of aircraft certificated in the Transport Category (Passenger) and Transport Category (Cargo) will be made every six months.

7.2.4 - Class Six Radio Operating Licences are valid for one year and the aircraft operator should make separate application to the Bermuda Department of Telecommunications to have the licence renewed prior to the reissue of the C of A.
