3.10 - De-registration of Aircraft

3.10.1 - Applications to the Director for the cancellation of a Certificate of Registration for an aircraft shall be submitted by the Bermuda Exempted Company concerned. This should be by a letter requesting the de-registration which should be accompanied by a Certified Resolution signed by Directors of the company. All documentation issued in connection with the registration of the aircraft originally must be returned to the Director within seven days of de-registration.

3.10.2 - Where an Export Certificate of Airworthiness for an aircraft is requested, the applicant will provide the Director with details of the State to which the aircraft is to be exported and a BDCA Form 201(E), completed by the AMO for the aircraft, will be provided to the Director.

3.10.3 - Upon being satisfied with the information submitted the Director will arrange for an inspection of the aircraft and its related records and documentation to be made by a BDCA airworthiness inspector. The inspection will be carried out at the facility approved as the maintenance provider for the aircraft and the Approved Signatory shall be present during the inspection.

3.10.4 - All fees payable to the BDCA must be settled prior to de-registration.

3.10.5 - Following the cancellation of registration of an aircraft from the Register notification of such cancellation shall be provided to the National Aviation Authority (NAA) of the State to which the aircraft is being exported.
