Mr. Dunstan joined the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) in November 2006. He will serve one year as “Director - Designate” until the current Director’s retirement in late 2007.
Mr. Dunstan holds a B.Sc. degree in Aviation Management and Flight Operations and is a qualified Canadian Commercial Pilot and FAA Commercial Pilot and Flight Instructor. He was the first Bermudian to attain a Diploma in Airport Management from IATA’s Aviation Training and Development Institute. Additionally, he is a qualified ISO 9000:2000 lead auditor and has undertaken training in air accident investigation procedures.
Previously, Mr. Dunstan was employed in the Department of Airport Operations for ten years, the last three as the Manager – Air Operations. He played a key part in the airport’s certification process, working closely with the DCA’s aerodrome regulatory staff. He was instrumental in the implementation of the airport’s Quality Assurance (QA) and Safety Management Systems (SMS).
