In order to place an aircraft on the Bermuda Register of Aircraft it is necessary to incorporate a Bermuda Company. In order to accomplish this we suggest that you contact a Bermuda Law Firm. A list of current law firms can be found on our website.
In order to start the registration process it is necessary to submit an application for "Approval in Principle" (Form 100) to the Director of Civil Aviation. This document contains detailed information that will allow the DCA to either approve or reject the application. The application can be made online via our AIRS system by the local Bermuda Law Firm handling the registration process on behalf of their client. The status of the application (Draft, Pending, and Approved) can also be viewed online.
Our airworthiness department will contact the maintenance facility presenting the aircraft for Bermuda certification and arrange for an inspection of the aircraft to take place. They will also ensure that all relevant technical documentation is forwarded to a person qualified to complete the various applications etc.
Pilots flying a Bermuda registered aircraft are required to hold a current Bermuda Flight Crew Validation. Also, aircraft and flight crew flying in MNPS/RVSM airspace will need to be approved by the Bermuda DCA. All applications are available on our website. Please ensure that the application is made early in the registration process to avoid a delay in the issuance of this documentation.
Please allow 4-6 weeks for the completion of the registration process.
